An Ode to My Hairdresser

A hairdresser of great skill who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

Her clients have full confidence in her
and lack nothing of style.

She brings good, not harm,
to the women in her life.

She selects styles and highlights
and works with eager hands.

She is like an artist,
bringing her talent to hair.

She blends the roots before they are dark;
she provides color instead of gray
and highlights that glimmer in the sun.

She considers a color and applies it;
out of her palette she works magic.

She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for blowdrying.

She sees that her trimming is perfect,
and her curling iron does not go out at night.

In her hand she holds the scissors
and grasps the comb with her fingers.

She opens her arms to the unkempt
and extends her hands to the shaggy.

When you are desparate, she has no fear for the outcome;
for all of her clients are clothed in great hair.

When you feel like covering your head;
she is ready to transform you again.

Her cuts are respected at the shopping mall,
where they are noticed among the women of the land.

She knows hair products and sells them,
and supplies her clients with whatever they need.

She works with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the bad hair days of the past.

She applies her skill with wisdom,
and faithful results are always found in her salon.

She watches over the styles of her customers
and does not let us live with outdated hair.

Her clients arise and call her blessed;
their husbands also, and they praise her:

"Many hairdressers do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman with a great haircut is happy.

Give your stylist the reward she has earned,
and let your hair bring her praise at the coffee shop.
