What Happens in Church, Stays in Church

Just kidding!

I'm back. I am still processing my thoughts and feelings about the weekend, so it might take a while to share what the teaching will mean in my own life.

I have no doubt that being there this weekend was timely for me.

I went expecting to be among friendly strangers, however as soon as I arrived in the hotel lobby, I saw people I knew.

There were people there from two churches where my husband and I had taught classes. It was great seeing familiar faces.

Our former church used to bring in quite a few speakers to our area. As leadership, we were involved behind the scenes and had quite a bit of one-on-one interaction with the speakers. I haven't been in the position of a general attendee at a conference in a long time.

I would have liked to sit down and visit with Graham, but I didn't know how to initiate a conversation with him without looking like a groupie and overstepping his space.

The thing I appreciated most about the weekend was that he lifted up the Lord all weekend. I didn't feel like he pointed toward himself or his ministry, nor did he prostitute his anointing to exalt himself.

His message was what I needed, depth without hype.

Worship was good too. Have you ever seen line dancing in worship?

More later.

nicely said Grace. Thanks for the update. I look forward to hearing more from you as the dust settles.

I'm looking forward to hearing more, although you might possibly need some sort of deliverance after the country music that often occurs alongside line-dancing.

:)

Ditto Pam. Well said.

I think you will find that Graham is consistently pretty different from most of the other so-called "prophets" in charismatic circles.

Looking forward to your thoughts about what you heard.

Sweet.

It can be hard meeting up with folks who you used to journey with but not so much anymore: how great that it didn't seem to detract from your time!

I *adore* how much Graham talks about the overwhelming abundant kindness of God: it so resonates with my soul.

inheritor,
LOL about the green jello. Fortunately lunch was a little more upscale than that.

pam and lily,
I'm interested also in hearing about when you see him soon. I'd like to hear more of his thoughts about the big picture of church, where he sees the church is headed.

robby,
Now I have a funny picture in my mind about how the spirit of country music might manifest in deliverance. :)

aj,
Me too.
I picked up the set of his journals and I'm looking forward to reading more of what he has to say.
