Christian Teen Bloggers

It must be contagious!

Several of my kids have started blogging.

My second son secretly started a blog called Anything But Ordinary (you can tell he's a middle child). His secret was soon out.

One day when I was home alone, temptation overcame me, and I read his blog. What I feared was true...he is interesting and brilliant! (ok, maybe I'm a little biased)

Of course, I had to confess my trespass to him, and thankfully, he readily forgave me. I have permission to read and comment, but he requested that we not "talk about it."

The girls (13) were more open with me and requested help in setting up their blogs. They are learning how to search blog rolls and find other girls their age with similar interests.

(btw, teen girls is not a safe search on technorati)

It isn't likely my husband will blog, although he has an interesting way of expressing himself. A quote from this weekend worth mentioning:

"If you are full of shit, it's gonna leak out somewhere."

I think I would really like your husband. Too bad he doesn't blog. :-)

Thanks for the warning about searching for "teen girls" - once a friend of mine was looking for hairstyles that would look good on her and decided to do a picture search for her hair colour - which was dirty blonde. You fill in the blanks.

Bruce,
I'm sure you would like him.

grey owl,
I heard a story about a gal researching a piece of exercise equipment, the butt master (like a thigh master). Not a good search either.

Web searches require a bit of creativity to avoid the vulgar and obscene. I've become something of an expert at it over the years. A lot of perversion out there.

It's cool that your kids blog. I think it's a great way to get kids writing. Definitely a larger outlet for writing now than there was 10 years ago.

Hi Jim,
It's nice to meet you.

The kids are really enjoying their blogs, and it's great watching them express themselves in this way.
