Ground Zero

Over the past 20 years, the kitchen was partially transformed from the 1986 look. We made efforts to tone things down. However for all those years, we lived with the blue counters, unattractive flooring, and awkward traffic pattern.

This July we began the process of deconstruction. It took several months (in the midst of work and life) to pack all the stuff and then to remove flooring and cabinets.

This picture was taken November 6, 2006, the day reconstruction was about to begin.

It might be a while yet before I get the finished picture posted. It looks like we won't be seeing the granite guy this week.

Happy Thanksgiving Grace. I hope you get this finished soon. What are you doing for Thanksgiving and Christmas with no kitchen? Darn the luck, eh?

cindy, bruce, and trailady,
You would be surprised at what's been accomplished in a few weeks. I now have everything except the granite for my island. I cooked a turkey and pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day. I hope the granite guy shows up soon so that I can get the final picture.

julie,
It's nice to see you. I've visited your blog and been inspired by your posts.

chris,
Definitely! Glad you stumbled by.
