Thanks for all your wonderful responses to the last post. I am anxious to dive in to more discussion about these thoughts.
However, I am struggling with lower back pain and am currently unable to sit at the computer.
I would appreciate your prayers.

Grace- I'm praying for you! Was it the shopping? ;-)
Does this happen often? (She asks, as she realizes it would cause you paing to type a response... ) Don't answer that until you feel better! Definitely praying.
Sorry to hear that EG! I'll be praying for you today. I am 41 and only recently did I begin to have lower back pain. This has never been an issue for me. I figured out, though, that if I sit for long periods writing or on the internet that it triggers it. I'm thinking about converting to a standing desk. Seriously.
Hope your back heals up fast!
We're praying and loving on ya from snowy Winnipeg!
Peace,
Jamie
Holding you in the Light of the Holy Spirit, friend.
Praying for your complete healing. Thank you for what you are writing. I went through and read your spiritual abuse series. Well said. One of the reasons we left our church was because of the way a friend of mine was treated when she had an affair and then ended it. Spiritual abuse indeed. Just plain wrong. She is still dealing with the pain and they finally left the church 2 years late.
Grace- are you doing any better? if you can't answer this, then I'll know...
Sorry about your back. Wish you well. Thanks for the Outcast entry. Well, in my case, I am rebellious, independent, crazy and weird. And more, but your thoughts are always appreciated.
Having experienced some lower back pain myself, Grace, I offer you a quote to hang on to:
"Here I stand; I can do no other."
See what good company you're in?
Thanks everyone for the love and prayers. This original post was written on Tuesday, kneeling at the computer (not in an idolatrous manner). That was a rough day.
I'm a little freaked out because what used to be an occasional twinge of back pain seems to have suddenly morphed into something much more intense, and it doesn't seem to be going away.
It is really frustrating because I exercise and am in pretty good shape and now suddenly find myself unable to do basic life functions.
Cindy and Pam, I'm sorry to hear that you've also experienced back pain. Any tips you've found helpful would be appreciated. I was using an exercise ball at the computer for a chair, but that didn't work this week. Today I can sit for very short periods, well propped with pillows.
Anyway, I'm hopeful to maintain mobility. I went to the gym today and did some light exercise on the elliptical and treadmill.
My husband lives with chronic back pain, and I know first-hand how it robs quality of life. Survival kicks in, and the only thing that matters is minimizing the pain.
Traci, it's nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by.
David, you are rebellious, independent, crazy and weird, in a GOOD way!
Thank you again for all who prayed.
I do about 20 minutes of back strengthening stretches most every day, in addition to my regular workout. It keeps my scoliosis related pain to a minimum, usually. The exercises I do are pretty basic- the doc gave them to me on a pre-printed thing from some drug rep. I'd be glad to describe them if you want to email me.
PS- I'd seen those ball chairs and wondered if they helped. I guess you'd be a vote against, huh? I spent a long time at Office Depot sitting in lots of chairs for a while. Ended up with one of the less expensive ones, but it was the one that felt the best.
cindy,
If you can easily scan them, that would be great. I don't want you to have to type out the whole thing though.
I have a couple of books I'm working with and an exercise handout from a physical therapist.
my e-mail is katiejen2@yahoo.com
I might go back to using the ball as a chair. I'm just going to have to be more careful about sitting - posture, length of time, time of day (mornings can be touchy).
Thanks for caring.
