Captivating

A glimpse at my personal life...

Mankind is like a king or queen in exile, and we cannot be happy until we have recovered our true state. What would you expect the Queen of a kingdom and the Beauty of the realm to feel when she wakes to find herself a laundress in a foreign land?
-quoted from Captivating by Stasi Eldredge

Yeah, how did I get stuck doing all the laundry?

Laundry is on hold for a bit while I'm in the midst of Project Laundry Room. The room is being remodeled and new appliances will be delivered later this week. As long as the Queen has to do laundry, it might as well be with top-notch machines.

The garbage man skipped our house this week. Talk about rejection. I told the kids we had to go out and try to make our garbage look better. They rolled their eyes at me!

Another strange thing I heard myself saying the other day, "Boys, don't put your sisters in the trunk!"

There really is never a dull moment around here. It's great having teenagers. I wish these years could last longer.

ROFL

Thanks for this gem to brighten up my morning.

I have two teenagers and when I read your comments about making the garbage look better, I could see their disbelieving looks lol

Laundry? What's that?

Hey be blessed whatever you are doing today. God meets you wherever you are even in the chaos of laundry, and uncollected garbage, and with those precious kids :)

Hello Grace. I'm new to your blog. I love your sentiment about God, but I want to apologize to you on behalf of the church if someone has offended you. Serving God as a part of the church body is the most rewarding and fulfilling thing I do, and it breaks my heart when people walk away from that. The only reason I can think of that someone would "forsake the assembling" is that someone in the church has offended them. As whoever it was is a sister or brother of mine in Christ, I would like to apologize to you. I am so sorry if that's what's happened, and I pray that when you're ready, you're able to find another church family who will support you and love you the way Christ intended. God Bless, Sue

I appreciated your thoughts about your kids. I have much younger ones (four, 8 and under), and things are crazy and busy, but I'm loving it just as much as you seem to be loving the teenage years. Looks like I have a lot to look forward to.

Ben,
It's great that you are enjoying your kids. I wish I could go back to those years too, even though they were crazy. It's a good crazy. :)
