I agree that it is an important topic, and I wish it could stay up front on the blog because of that. Maybe I'll do a series and provide links on the sidebar.

2. Yes, I think we've not talked much about the fact that there is a supernatural spiritual substance that is a reality in the life of a believer. Perhaps we're afraid to go there due to charismatic and cultic excesses of the past.

Save me a spot in the fire. ;)Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16458658959357581120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-74585938025886914322007-09-23T08:45:00.000-06:002007-09-23T08:45:00.000-06:00I'm very late getting to these posts, but I have t...I'm very late getting to these posts, but I have to say two things here, grace:

1. I can't believe you didn't get more response to this post. It's something that everyone needs to be really giving some serious thought to and engaging with.

2. I have been realizing over the last year or so that we have done so much in historic Christianity to place Jesus in a category of something "other" than us that we have completely neglected and ignored the passages you have referenced here regarding the similarities.

I have a post that I started a long time ago but never completed talking about the forgotten similarities between Jesus and us, according to scripture. I think it goes deeper than any of us realize, although if I ever do actually finish and post it, I'll be burned at the stake for sure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-57016862477371886562007-09-21T14:40:00.000-06:002007-09-21T14:40:00.000-06:00jonathan,I agree, but possibly that is the change ...jonathan,
I agree, but possibly that is the change the church is experiencing. Whether we call it kingdom, reformation, emerging, or missional, hopefully it will result in a fuller realization of His grace and power.

john,
You are welcome. I think a well-developed understanding of incarnation is essential to being missional. I appreciated your series.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16458658959357581120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-28003803512854907762007-09-20T20:30:00.000-06:002007-09-20T20:30:00.000-06:00Grace, thank you for putting this post together. One that was the fullest realization of his grace and power in our lives. I shudder to think.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-10629778392692064552007-09-20T10:02:00.000-06:002007-09-20T10:02:00.000-06:00John,You are most welcome. I always appreciate your writing and teaching.

Concerning the posters, it really bothered me to see such gospel-centered terms and ideas put in such a negative light. I guess I felt the need to "redeem" the words.

Jason,
Thank you. Your post really did open my eyes to a much broader understanding of incarnational. It definitely deserves a standing with the other brilliant posts.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16458658959357581120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-90878495279590380992007-09-20T08:34:00.000-06:002007-09-20T08:34:00.000-06:00Hi Grace. And I'm honored that you included my post alongside those of some very gifted and brilliant people. I always enjoy reading your thoughts. Keep up the great work.

Jason Z.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14373188.post-43016658781939386342007-09-19T15:52:00.000-06:002007-09-19T15:52:00.000-06:00Hi, Grace.Another outstanding post! I was unaware of the caustic posters about "emerging" values that prompted you to create your own. I deeply appreciate your work in providing the alternative posters that get to the heart of "the conversation."John Fryehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02575709757912510374noreply@blogger.com
